420 Cafe Amsterdam with Jon Short -
Thursday, July 12, 2007 at 9:30-10:30 pm
I recorded this session by Jon Short ‘live’ at the 420 Café on July 14 with my Olympus A320 digital recorder…
and just recently found it in my files. Jon Short played on several festivals in Italy this summer on bills with Mark Ritsema & myself and with Willie King & The Liberators; we also guested together on the Mojo Station blues program in Rome. Jon Short is based in Worcester, Massachusetts, works as an elementary school teacher, plays solo and duets utilizing a repertoire of classic blues material from the 1920s and ’30s, has released several albums and is also active in the Blues-in-the-Schools movement along the East Coast and down South. In the North he’s known as “Mississippi” Jon Short, but in the South he’s called “Massachusetts” Jon Short.
