Ancestor Worship: Free Jazz

Ancestor Worship: Free Jazz

Our month-long investigation into the recordings of Ornette Coleman for Atlantic Records between 1959-61 is completed with this presentation of two major extended works, the first featuring Ornette & Eric Dolphy with the Gunther Schuller Orchestra and the second featuring the issued take of Free Jazz with the Ornette Coleman Double Quartet, plus the closing number by the Quartet, all taken from the multi-isc box set called Beauty Is A Rare Thing: The Complete Atlantic Recordings of Ornette Coleman.
