Tonight Dr. Larry Hayden and I are celebrating the 36th anniversary of my release from prison on December 13, 1971—a Holy Day of Obligation in my faith, and the happiest day of my life so far. Proprietors Mary Jo and Eric plied us with fantastic food and great conversation, and we heard music by Sun Ra & His Arkestra, John Sinclair with Michael & The Cats, the Wild Magnolias, Oliver Nelson, Lightnin’ Malcolm, Professor Longhair, Muddy Waters, Joe Weaver, Johnnie Bassett & the Blues Insurgents, and Miles Davis.
