Jazz from the Hempshopper On The Road is coming from the Trans-Love Energies Compassion Club in Detroit where we’re broadcasting another full hour of music by the classic Miles Davis Quintet, recorded in two marathon sessions in May & October 1956 for Prestige Records with John Coltrane on tenor, Red Garland at the piano, Paul Chambers on bass and Philly Joe Jones on drums, released on four Prestige albums titled Cookin’, Relaxin’, Workin’, and Steamin’ wth the Miles Davis Quintet—four of the finest sets of modern jazz ever pressed into vinyl.
