H3R3TIC Film Festival
Tonight’s program took us to Overtoom 301, the venerable art squat that’s hosting the first H3R3TIC Film Festival this weekend, including a screening of my movie TWENTY TO LIFE, a film by Steve Gebhardt. Our special guests included Chris, one of the festival organizers; director Andrea Marfori, whose film with Timothy Leary, ENERGY! THE MOVIE, was screened here last night; and our artist friend Cappy Jack, alone with recorded music by Andre Williams, the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, the Neville Brothers, the Pin Stripe Brass Band, Champion Jack Dupree, New Birth Brass Band, Davell Crawford, Elmore James with Big Joe Turner, Clarence “Gatemouth” Brown, Doc Cheatham & Nicholas Payton, and Little Walter.
