Talking with Chris Carter at the World’s End
On a cool London Saturday evening in September I took the Underground to Finsbury Park—only three stops away from the HeadPress Bunker in Wood Green—to meet the journalist and raconteur Chris Carter at a place called the World’s End Tavern and sit out on the sidewalk to enjoy a drink and the contemporary smoking area and an elongated conversation with Chris and my friend Gerard who happened along, excerpts from which are featured in this episode along with music by the Pinkeye Orchestra, Fela Kuti & Africa 70, Getto Kitty, Sons of Slum, John Coltrane, and the MC-5 “live” at the Grande Ballroom in the Fall of 1968.
