Today’s episode is centered on a WDET-FM production by Rob St. Mary called “40 Years Later” just aired yesterday and today in Detroit to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the MC5 “live” recording sessions at the Grande Ballroom on October 30-31, 1968 that resulted in the band’s Elektra Records album. The two-part “news feature” is surrounded by music from Was (Not Was), Victoria Spivey, Wendell Harrison, the MC-5, Bob Seger, the Stooges, John Sinclair & His Motor City Blues Scholars, the Detroit Cobras, and Planet D Nonet.
