Poet in Residence at the Bohemian National Home in Detroit
On the day after the U.S. elections my boy Hollywood and I celebrated the ascension of President Obama, the legalization of medical marijuana in Michigan, and my appointment as Poet in Residence at the Bohemian National Home in Detroit by making this episode of my radio program right inside my new apartment on the premises of what they call the BoHouse at 3009 Tillman on the southeast side of the Motor City. I would leave again for London and Amsterdam the next day, but Holice and I shared some good conversation while listening to music from Yusef Lateef’s Detroit, the Wild Tchoupitoulas, S.O.U.L., Segments of Time, Latimore, Was (Not Was), John Sinclair & the Pinkeye Orchestra, the Lyman Woodard Organization, and Shirley & Lee, and looking forward to a better America indeed!
