Hallelujah! A new president for the United States—and a black man at last! American expatriates and London cognescenti celebrated together at the Café Oto on Inauguration Day with music by tenor saxophonist, flutist and poet Elliott Levin, bassist Jair-Rohm Parker Wells, drummer Tony Bianco, pianist Robbie Knight, and singer Carole Denis. Once more I had the honor of hosting the show and performed several more carefully-chosen selections with this stellar band of London Blues Scholars. Carole Denis zouks up the new president and Elliott Levin riffs on the Obama Nation. The concert was produced by Dylan Harding in association with HeadPress.
