John Sinclair Radio Show #266

Kent Stage Theater –
Saturday, April 25, 2009 [20-0926]
Kent, OH.

My old friend Gary Lockwood invited me to participate in the annual “Who’s Yer Mama” Earth Day festival presented by the Standing Rock Cultural Arts organization in Kent, Ohio and offered an irresistible incentive with the promise that the legendary Kidney Brothers, Robert on guitar & vocals and Jack on tenor saxophone & harmonica, plus bassist Bill Watson, would be on hand to back me up. I knew all these guys in the early 1970s and they play even better today, as they demonstrated at our concert at the Kent Stage theater on April 25. On stage they played an opening set and then brought me on, but for this episode I’ve integrated our performances to feature four of my selections and four of theirs, with Robert singing on three and Jack Kidney singing his composition “Somebody Shot Him.”
