I was in New York City the last week of May and visited my old friend Dave Marsh at his Sunday morning Kick Out the Jams show on XM (formerly Sirius) Satellite Radio on my brother’s birthday for an hour and a half or so of records by Shorty Long, the Last Poets and Sonny Boy Williamson, several rewarding conversations and selections from my albums DETROIT LIFE and The Delta Sound. I’ve known Marsh since he was a 16-year-old White Panther from Pontiac, Michigan and our musical tastes and social outlook remain remarkably similar these many, many years down the road. One high point here for me is our heartfelt homage to our mutual pal, the late Bob “Righteous” Rudnick. Thanks, Dave!
