John Sinclair Radio Show #283

Bohemian National Home –
Monday, October 5, 2009 @ 3:00-4:00 am [20-0942]
Detroit, US.

We celebrated my 68th birthday at the Bohemian National Home this weekend with a two-day Detroit Life festival featuring about 20 bands and my own performances in duet with pianist James Semark and with the Motor City Blues Scholars on Friday night—playing numbers from our DETROIT LIFE album on No Cover Records—and with Duende and the Pinkeye Orchestra on Saturday night. Three selections with Semark are included here, as well as a live performance with the Pinkeye Orchestra at Paycheck’s Lounge in Hamtramck last spring, a cut from the DETROIT LIFE album, music from the new Duende CD, and sides by R.J. Spangler’s Blue Four with Bill Heid, the Planet D Nonet, and Johnnie Bassett from his new Mack Avenue Records release, The Gentleman Is Back.
