John Sinclair Radio Show: Aretha Franklin Way

John Sinclair Radio Show: Aretha Franklin Way

Episode 705 is coming from our accustomed stand behind the counter at the Hempshopper store on the Singel canal in Amsterdam, long-time sponsor of the programming at Radio Free Amsterdam, and we’ve got another hour of music by the Queen of Soul in tribute to the naming of a street after her by the City of Detroit—Aretha Franklin Way, right in the middle of downtown. We’ll hear a few more of her timeless Atlantic hits from the late 1960s and into the 70s from the collection called The Age Of Aretha Franklin, some of her gospel gems from the album called Amazing Grace, and a set of her modern hits for Arista Records from the anthology called Greatest Hits (1980-1994). Once again I’m dedicating this program to my daughter Sunny while she recuperates in the hospital. Get well soon, my baby!
