The John Sinclair Foundation Presents
JOHN SINCLAIR RADIO SHOW 268
Hi-Ho Lounge, New Orleans, January 31, 2008 [20-0927]

When I was in New Orleans in June to visit my daughter Celia, we spent an evening with our friend Chris Jones, congalero and leader of the Mardi Gras Indian Funk band called 101 Runners, and he gave me the recording of a great 101 Runners show I had attended at the Hi-Ho Lounge during Mardi Gras 2008. The band doesn’t have any music in release so far, so it’s a special treat to be able to share the mighty 101 Runners with our listeners. Honey Bannister and War Chief Juan Pardo are the featured singers and the Runners—with Kirk Joseph on tuba and Willie Green, A.J. Mallory, Lionel Batiste Jr. and Chris Jones in the percussion section—pump out the funk from beginning to end. Yeah you rite!
