John Sinclair Radio Show: The Turnaround

John Sinclair Radio Show: The Turnaround

Episode 686, our first show for the bright new year of 2017, is coming from the Tariq Khan Studios in the Heesterveld Creative Community in the Bijlmer district in the southesst of Amsterdam, where I’ve been working as Artist In Residence during 2016 under the direction of Brother Tariq and his outfit called Jah Mission. I’ve got Tariq and Steve The Fly riding shotgun here in the Bijlmer at the end of the dread year of 2016 and we’re talking about our plans for the coming year, including our burning desire to move the John Sinclair Foundation into the Heesterveld community and establish our own offices and Artist In Residence quarters here in close proximity to the Tariq Khan Studios. To start the year off right, we’re playing music by Lee Morgan, the Hot 8 Brass Band, Esther Phillips, John Sinclair & His Blues Scholars from my 75th birthday party in Ann Arbor last October, Angelo Oliviero with his “Blues For A White Panther,” Trombone Shorty, Kenny Burrell, Lou Donaldson, Hank Mobley, and Charlie Parker with strings to play our closing theme..
