Two days after Mardi Gras I met with the great New Orleans producer Mark Bingham at his Piety Street studios in the upper 9th ward and sat down behind the mixing board to talk and play music from some of Bingham’s stellar productions on the Yockamo All Stars, James Blood Ulmer, my friend and mentor Ed Sanders, John Mooney, and Peter Stampfel, along with one ringer thrown in by Mark, the classic Joseph Spencer Arhoolie recording of “Coming In on a Wing and a Prayer.”
