I’m at the Trans-Love Energies Compassion Club in the Eastern Market district of Detroit, my new home in the D, getting ready for the 7th Annual 420 Music & Art Fair tonight at the Park Bar and playing cuts from previous versions of the affair, starting with 2005 performances by Johnnie Bassett plus John Sinclair & His Blues Scholars with James McCarty on guitar, some numbers from 2006 by Jeff Grand and Charles “Buddy” Smith, the 4:20 All Stars from 2007 and my performance with Glowb in 2008, finishing with a reprise of Johnnie Bassett’s 2005 performance and the very appropriate “Weed Head Woman” to close the show, with Larry McCray joining in on guitar. The Sinclair On The Air show can be heard on Radio Free Amsterdam every Sunday at 4:20.
