Tonight’s edition of Sinclair On The Air is a two-hour exposition of the music of the great New Orlean pianist, composer and producer Allen Toussaint, hosted by John Sinclair & filmmaker Stevenson Palfi on WWOZ-FM in New Orleans on January 9, 1999 and reproduced here thanks to David Kunian, who found the program in his audio files and shipped it over to me in London. Featured are recordings mostly written and produced by Toussaint on Lee Dorsey, Al Tousan & His Wild Sounds of New Orleans, Fats Domino, Ernie K-Doe, Jessie Hill, Chris Kenner, Benny Spellman, Irma Thomas, Otis Redding, Art Neville, The Showmen, Willie Harper, and Raymond Lewis.
