We reached into the Vintage Radio Vaults at Radio Free Amsterdam and pulled out a cassette of John Sinclair’s Blues & Roots show recorded at WWOZ-FM in New Orleans on November 4, 1996 and digitally transferred in London last month to make the program now known as Vintage Radio Vaults 16, with music by the Marigolds, John Sinclair & His Blues Scholars, Elmore James, Otis & Lucille Spann, Smiley Lewis, The Spaniels, B.B. King, Magic Slim, Lillie Mae Kirkman, Lonnie Johnson, Buddy Moss, the Mississippi Sheiks, Barrelhouse Annie, Johnny Guitar Watson, Bobby “Blue” Bland, Jimmy Reed, Walter “Wolfman” Washington and an unidentified artist. The Sinclair On The Air show is heard every Saturday night at midnight over Salto Wereld Radio-99.4 FM and Cable 104.6 as a service of Radio Free Amsterdam.
