Radio Free Genoa Poetry This third episode of Radio Free Genoa Poetry was also broadcast “live” from the Piazza delle Erbe in the heart of Genoa where my engineer and recordist Andrea Orlando and I set up outside the Café Letterario delle Erbe to play some music and talk some talk from the Festivale Internazionale di Poesie di Genova. Today I am featured on the Piazza in what they call an Aperitivo Poetico, or Drinks with the Poet, and I’m playing selections from THE DETROIT ALBUM with my Motor City Blues Scholars, recorded at the Jazz Loft in Detroit in April, and from the recording session I made at Starski & Sons Studio in Paris with guitarist Gilles Riberolles just two weeks ago, and we are presenting the radio program “live” for the audience gathered on the piazza at 7:00 in the evening. Although there is no translator and the Italian citizens have really no idea of what I’m talking about, they are very appreciative and we all end up having a ball.
