I’m making my first Radio Free Amsterdam broadcast from the great city of Chicago at the new Standing Ovation studio where my pal, the artist called Fritz Kielsmeier, imagines and creates his photo-sculptures from broken and discarded musical instruments, his own photographs and other musico-historic imagery he’s gathered from all over the planet. Our conversations are spiked with magnificent Chicago blues recordings from the past half a century by Little Walter, Howlin’ Wolf, Muddy Waters, Sonny Boy Williamson, Buddy Guy, Junior Wells, Jimmy Reed, Big Walter Horton, Magic Slim & the Teardrops, Hubert Sumlin, the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, and Hound Dog Taylor & the Houserockers, ending with John Sinclair & Howard Glazer in a repeat performance of our homage to Mr. Hound Dog recorded just last week in a little basement studio in Ferndale MI.

Closing the show—also celebrating his birthday today—is the great Andre “Mr. Rhythm” Williams with a musical salute to one of the Motor City’s former products, the mighty Chrysler 300.
