Sinclair On The Air 63 <– Listen On Demand
This special edition of the Blue Sensations program with John Sinclair was produced as part of the Spring 1990 Fund Drive at WDET-FM in Detroit with Martin Gross riding shotgun and has been edited of everything but the main thesis of the show: RED PRYSOCK INVADES NEW ORLEANS, pitting the great rock & roll tenor saxophonist against an all-star Crescent City line-up including Roy Montrell, Professor Longhair, Fats Domino, The Meters, Roy Brown, Clifton Chenier, Larry Williams, and Little Richard in a simulated free-for-all boxing match at the Superdome in New Orleans that results in an inevitable victory for the John Coltrane of Rock & Roll—Red Prysock! The original cassette recording was duplicated 20 years ago and then digitally transferred from the poor duplicate to make the nasty soundtrack we have in hand, but it’s the only way we’ll ever hear it. The Sinclair On The Air show is heard every Saturday night at midnight over Salto Wereld Radio-99.4 FM and Cable 104.6 as a service of Radio Free Amsterdam.
