The John Sinclair Foundation Presents
The Vintage Radio Vaults #10
The Last Brass Band Jam with the Duke of Tchoupitoulas
WWOZ-FM
[Unknown Date] [VRV-0010]
New Orleans, La.
The popular Sunday evening Brass Band Jam program on WWOZ-FM was initiated and hosted by DJ Davis Rogan and finished out by the Duke of Tchoupitoulas with this final installment after the show was squashed by the station’s programming Gestapo. The Last Brass Band Jam features the early recordings of the immortal Dirty Dozen Brass Band and an in-studio interview with pioneering modern tuba man Kirk Joseph, a founding member of the Dirty Dozen.
